🔬 Lab: Soares Quantitative Ecology Lab

📍 Locations: University of Regina (Canada) or Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil)
🌍 Research Focus
Selected students will work on:
- AI-driven biodiversity monitoring in freshwater ecosystems.
- Predicting aquatic food web structure using computational tools.
- Large-scale patterns in freshwater ecology and macroecology.
- Collaboration with Brazilian partners (Drs. Lucas Colares & Karoline CerĂłn).
🎯 Key Objectives:
- Develop quantitative models for ecosystem analysis.
- Integrate field data, AI, and network theory to address ecological questions.
- Contribute to international research with fieldwork/exchange opportunities.
âś… Preferred Qualifications
- Background in 🌊 freshwater ecology, 📊 ecological networks, or 🤖 data science.
- Skills in statistics, programming (R/Python), or GIS.
- Interest in tropical/temperate ecosystems and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

- Publish in peer-reviewed journals.
